We’re Gonna Take This Sitting Down
Cavs Probably Heart The Hawks

Call this the biggest slap in the face in the world, but most people still aren’t giving the Atlanta Hawks much of a chance to win Sunday’s Game 7 that they forced last night against the Boston Celtics.
This is a No. 8 seed that finished 37-44, pushing the 65-16 Celtics to the edge of the first round, even though Boston swept Atlanta in the regular season series. So can you blame traditional logic? Either way, the Cleveland Cavaliers have to freakin’ love this series.
Cleveland will face whoever wins this series, since they muggled the Wizards in six games. If they play Boston, then they’ll have a mental advantage at home, knowing that the Celtics went 0-3 on the road against Atlanta. Having won two games in Washington, the Cavs are a much stronger threat to steal a game in Boston than the Hawks were.
And if they play Atlanta, then … well, sheesh, book return tickets to the conference finals. As was seen in last year’s Warriors and the Clippers of two years ago, flash-in-the-pan teams might be able to punch a Goliath in the face in the first round, but that uppercut doesn’t usually work a second time in these deep, deep playoffs.
Why no, I’m not saying this all because I want another Cavs-Pistons conference finals series. Why do you ask?

Update: And of course, Cassano goes longer and better on this very subject.

Your futon looks a tad classier than my mine but we think alike. This Cavs fan is excited about meeting the Hawks in the 2nd round. Cavs suffer the same criticism - no matter who we beat and at what level, it’s a fluke.
Not sure if they thought it was a fluke, people just thought the Cavs couldn’t do it again because they didn’t make the right moves last year in the offseason.
Beating the Wiz in the playoffs … now that’s a trend, everyone can agree on that now.
Insert inane ESPN Commenter of the Day quote about Boston here, because God knows Boston fans can’t shut their traps for one second anyway, thus further encouraging the blatantly stupid and non-entertaining east coast bias that the worldwide leader holds.
Not that I’m bitter or anything.
