We’re Gonna Take This Sitting Down
I, Elsewhere
You know you’re pining for a bad Don LaFontaine impression, premature cockiness of BG-Minnesota, and Canada breaking down my Skype connection. ◼ THF

Comments (0)Due to technical issues, about three people watched my Phillies-Padres live blog last night. Dude, if I wanted that kind of saturation, I’d have done the live blog here. ◼ Deadspin

Oh my god, they actually did this.
NBC17, the Raleigh/Durham affiliate, was unable to attain highlights of NCAA basketball games from CBS, so to show the highlights from Duke’s near-loss to 15th-seeded Belmont, they… well… yeah, they did that. Seriously, local TV can rule sometimes. ◼ → Fark

Stuff I didn't write, but that doesn't necessarily make it any worse
TSN showed their Top Ten NFL plays from 2007. Two of them were Cleveland Browns plays. Josh Cribbs’ disaster-to-master return TD, and the one where the New York Jets forgot how to tackle Jamal Lewis.
Comments (0)Now that David Eckstein is with the Diamondbacks, he’ll play second next to Adam Dunn at first. Eck actually called off Dunn on a pop fly, and Mark Grace on the FSN broadcast said it looked like a father-son game. ◼ AZ Republic

Comments (0)So I’m watching some Olympic water polo match online (yes, I know) and it’s halftime. The song they picked? Why, the instrumental version of “Cotton-Eye Joe.” Not sure what’s more shocking. That they’re playing the instrumental version of “Cotton-Eye Joe,” or that someone made an instrumental version of “Cotton-Eye Joe.” Is this how all water polo matches go? ◼ NBCOlympics.com

That’s my station, Penn came up with the idea the idea two years ago with the Florida national championship in football. He used the old school electronic board for that and this time he wanted ideas and I pitched Lego’s a la bat girl and that morphed into dolls and stuffed animals.
PS There is also one for the UNC game which I thought was better.
